mars placed in 1st 4th 7th 8th and 12 from lagna or moon causes kuja or mangal dosha. but if kuja is placed in own or frendly sign or in sign of exaltation kuja dosha is very much mittigated
likewise placement of kuja in gemini virgo and aquarius gives kuja dosha if it is in 1st 4th 7th 8th or 12th from lagna or moon sign.
